❦ CL⑰ - The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden is a novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett

It is now one of Burnett's most popular novels, and is considered to be a classic of English children's literature. Several stage and film adaptations have been produced.


Plot Summary: 
A young British girl born and raised in India loses her neglectful parents in an earthquake. She is returned to England to live at her uncle's estate. Her uncle is very distant due to the loss of his wife ten years before. Neglected once again, she begins exploring the estate and discovers a garden that has been locked and neglected. Aided by one of the servants' brothers, she begins restoring the garden, and eventually discovers some other secrets of the manor. Written by Ed Sutton

▣ is an American children's novel written by author L. Frank Baum.
▣ is the first American fairy tale and the first fantasy written by an American to enjoy an immediate success upon publication.
▣ The story chronicles the adventures of a young girl named Dorothy Gale in the Land of Oz, after being swept away from her Kansas farm home in a cyclone. The novel is one of the best-known stories in American popular culture and has been widely translated. Its initial success, and the success of the 1902 Broadway musical which Baum adapted from his original story, led to Baum's writing thirteen additional Oz books. The original book has been in the public domain in the US since 1956.

Picture books:

Fairy Tales :

Mother Goose

of fairy tales and nursery rhymes often

▣ Mother Goose is the name given to an
